Dr. Charles Sanders

Dr. Charles Sanders is the former chairman and chief executive officer of Glaxo, Inc., a pharmaceutical company which, under his leadership, grew to second largest in the world. A noted philanthropist, Dr. Sanders’ longstanding commitment to others includes service on the Board of Trustees of the Center for Strategic and International Studies, Chairman Emeritus and Board Member of Project HOPE, as well as leading interventions by medical organizations in response to world crises, such as earthquakes. The Foundation for the National Institutes of Health established the Charles A. Sanders Legacy Fund to honor Dr. Sanders for his decades of tireless dedication to improving health, access to medical care and furthering biomedical research around the world. Dr. Sanders graduated from Southwestern Medical College of the University of Texas.
