Permanent Positions:
The accountant is responsible for all accounting functions for PBSNC's Foundation, including the preparation of financial statements, financial analysis, and annual audits. This position reviews contractual agreements, including terms and conditions, to ensure accurate reporting of grants and commitments. The accountant oversees all receipt processing for PBSNC, managing treasury functions and working closely with internal teams on reconciliations. The position also manages and performs campus voucher processing for PBSNC.
This position may be eligible for a hybrid or remote work arrangement, consistent with System Office policy. UNC System employees are generally required to reside in North Carolina, within a 2-hour commuting distance of their assigned duty station.
Required competencies include the following, among others: Thorough knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles and their application to cost, governmental accounting, and nongovernmental accounting. Ability to compile, monitor, examine, and audit moderately complex financial statements/reports/accounts or budget codes for accuracy, integrity, and conformance to accounting and program guidelines. Ability to assess and resolve unprecedented problems that require research and review of policy, procedures, and regulations. Ability to prepare written and/or technical products which convey concise, comprehensive, and accurate findings and conform to guidelines. Ability to provide appropriate documentation to support conclusions. Ability to review and edit the work of others. Ability to recommend and/or make selection decisions. Ability to develop and implement work plans. Ability to establish performance standards conduct performance reviews. Ability to participate in the disciplinary and grievance processes, as needed.
Minimum requirements include a master's degree and one (1) to two (2) years of experience; or bachelor's degree and two (2) to four (4) years of experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.

PBS North Carolina is actively seeking a Broadcast IT Specialist to provide technical solutions across a broad spectrum of information technology to support television broadcast and multi-media equipment, systems integration, workflows, networks, databases, software, and servers in a studio environment and field production environment.
Minimum requirements include a bachelor’s degree and 2-5 years of related experience; or a combination of education and applicable experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.
PBS North Carolina is actively seeking a Data Solutions Manager to serve as a core contributor for defining, developing, and delivering data solutions for complex issues that improve fundraising strategy and enhance the donor experience. In this highly collaborative role, the position will engage cross-functionally to develop solutions regarding data entry, donor accounts, queries, and reports. This position will serve as a subject matter expert for reporting and data in Tessitura CRM and PBS North Carolina’s Growth Division needs. The Data Solutions Manager will join the newly formed Data Team under the leadership of the Senior Database and Fundraising Systems Manager within the Integrated Fundraising Department. This position will support the Senior Database Manager and learn the routine report needs for fundraising mailings, delivering donor benefits and acknowledgements, and cross-train on database administration.
It is crucial for this role to manage the reporting and data needs to execute fundraising strategy and donor communications. This position will be empowered to find in-house solutions to the complex reporting needs and projects. This position should seek resources and trainings to increase reporting tools and analytics in Tessitura. The Integrated Fundraising Department is responsible for over $10 million in revenue, derived from many contributions less than $1,000. Creating a seamless contribution processing, importing, and troubleshooting workflow is a top priority for this position.

Required competencies include the following, among others: Database: In-depth knowledge about the use of a CRM and donor database, with specific purpose for data integrity and further revenue success. Previous experience and knowledge of the Tessitura platform a plus. -Problem solving: recognizes, defines, and resolves problems and issues that are expected or unexpected. Ability to approach problem-solving discussions with an open-mind and determine the best approach for resolution. -Technology: seeks to understand the framework of technology used in Growth division, finds resources to answer complex technical questions, and continues to expand current technological skill set to meet the needs of the department. -Collaboration: ability to build productive relationships, partake in cross-functional discussions, and embrace new mindsets in a changing environment. -Execution: takes a problem and collaborates with the needed partners to determine a solution. Ability to outline next steps, follow-through on tasks, and finalize project execution.
Minimum education and experience requirements include a high school diploma or equivalency and one year of experience in the field of technology related to the area of assignment; or equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.
The Financial Reporting Manager (EHRA IRIT Accounting Manager I) is directly responsible for financial reporting, including the completion of audited financial statements, required grant reporting to the Corporation of Public Broadcasting (CPB), and internal financial operational reports, and providing supervision of staff. The position leads the year-end close processes and annual external audit, as well as provides financial systems support and technical expertise on such topics as unrelated business income, charitable trusts, and donated securities. In addition, the position oversees fixed asset processes and treasury functions. The accounting for PBS North Carolina is sophisticated, incorporating state budget and reporting requirements, generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP), public television industry practices and reporting requirements, and Federal and State accounting and tax regulations. Sources of funding include an annual state operating appropriation, an annual operating grant from the CPB, federal grants, private gifts and grants, and capital improvement funds. As PBS North Carolina is an affiliate entity of the UNC System Office, this position works closely with the Finance team in analyzing related party transactions and meeting reporting requirements.

PBS North Carolina is actively seeking two Senior Account Executives for the Corporate Engagement team. The Senior Account Executive is responsible for initiating, developing, and stewarding corporate relationships that lead to predictable, sustainable revenue growth for PBS North Carolina. The position combines the opportunity to utilize the skills and experience of thriving in a performance-based, data-informed, goal-driven sales environment with the mission-critical task of raising revenue for a well-respected, nonprofit statewide media organization. This position also requires excellent executive presence to connect with C-Suite leaders at companies across the state.
The key performance indicators we are seeking for executive presence include: 1) Interpersonal Aptitude, which focuses on the ability to interact effectively with others inside our organization with confident and accurate communication, understanding how your behavior affects others inside the team and organization, and having the confidence of senior leadership. 2) Professional Affect, which is how you are viewed outside the organization in terms of style, presence (which includes during in-person and virtual meetings), composure and presentation delivery. 3) Technical Competence, which involves having the skills and experience required to deliver on the organization's goals.
For the Corporate Engagement Team this means: a. Having ultimate clarity on the products and services PBS NC is selling, including project funding, facilities rental, production services and the other opportunities across the Corporate Engagement portfolio. b. Having clarity on and being able to communicate the value and benefits of each of our products and services, as well as the ability to strategically qualify and align companies with our investment opportunities utilizing corporate scorecards, the corporate scoring system, and other data sources. c. Being able to communicate PBS NC's vision flawlessly. d. Develop strategies for increasing the revenue coming into PBS NC monthly. The senior account executive sells television underwriting messages, digital media, corporate event, project funding partnerships/corporate engagements and other corporate engagement opportunities to corporations and their advertising agencies.
In this consultative sales position, the senior account executive is responsible for assisting in achieving market sales goals through his or her own direct sales and through participation in the implementation of PBS NC's systems and overall growth strategy. The senior account executive connects with decision makers at businesses, meets with them to understand their marketing needs and develops proposals that offer marketing solutions to help them grow their businesses. In this position, the senior account executive will prospect, conduct needs assessments, create and present proposals, close the deal, write copy and service the account. The senior account executive will also harness data and technology, using a variety of systems, including HubSpot, LinkedIn, Nielsen's Scarborough system, Protract, Trac Media tools and other ratings and data analytics, to drive revenue growth opportunities with corporate partners. The senior account executive will utilize PBS NC's corporate data systems to develop and grow an account list while working as part of the Corporate Engagement and Growth teams to achieve personal and organization financial goals. PBS North Carolina is a statewide network and travel will be required to meet with corporate partners throughout the state. This position will also support PBS North Carolina's comprehensive campaign.
Attributes required for this position include exceptional interpersonal communication skills, public speaking, and presentation confidence, writing proficiency, organizational skills, and self-motivation. The successful candidate will be a strategic thought partner with internal stakeholders, including division directors, around project development and corporate engagement.
