Playful Learning Workshop Series

Join PBS North Carolina for the Playful Learning Workshop Series! We are reaching educators, parents and caregivers throughout North Carolina by offering free learning resources in a stimulating atmosphere.

In each event, educators, parents and caregivers will gain tools from PBS to support students from a wide range of backgrounds and environments. Details for each workshop are included below.

This series begins Tuesday, April 5th, and continues through Thursday, May 26th. 

All workshops are free to attend. Teachers may use workshops for Continuing Education Units.

Cultural Connections with PBS KIDS in the Classroom

Join PBS NC and the Children’s Council of Watauga County as we explore ways to nurture cultural connections, awareness, and responsiveness in learners with PBS KIDS.

Join PBS NC and the Children’s Council of Watauga County as we explore ways to extend the work being done in the classroom and help nurture students. Participants will gain valuable tools from PBS KIDS to support curious learners as they explore the world around them!

Join PBS NC and Bladen Smart Start for an opportunity to expand your social and emotional learning (SEL) toolkit as we dive into strategies and resources from PBS KIDS for excelling SEL in the classroom, at home, and beyond! We want to make sure you have tools that are meaningful and adaptable.

Exploring Big Emotions with PBS KIDS

We all have different feelings and a wide range of emotions. What do we do when our feelings are so big? We can help kids name and understand their feelings by connecting to the characters they see on Rootle PBS KIDS! Join PBS NC and Bladen Smart Start as we explore healthy ways to manage emotions both big and small!

Join PBS NC and Smart Start of Forsyth County outside to learn some fun and easy ways to make literacy connections using objects you can find in your home and right outside your door!

Multi-Sensory Literacy with PBS KIDS

The opportunity for literacy connections are happening all around us! How can we use even the simplest moments in our classrooms to spark literacy connections and meet each learner where they are? Join PBS NC and Smart Start of Forsyth County as we discuss effective tools and how using the PBS KIDS model of Watch, Play, Explore, Share can provide opportunities for multi-sensory literacy learning.
