Lindsay Bierman

PBS North Carolina's CEO Lindsay Bierman is responsible for the statewide media network’s overall vision, leadership, strategic direction and success. Before accepting leadership of PBS North Carolina in summer 2019, Bierman served as chancellor of the UNC School of the Arts in Winston-Salem. The longtime media veteran also spent 17 years at Time Inc., where he worked on cross-platform audience, content and franchise development for numerous mainstream brands, including four years as editor-in-chief at Southern Living magazine. Bierman served as chair of the board of the Thomas S. Kenan Institute for the Arts and sat on the RiverRun International Film Festival Board of Directors. He worked with top business leaders as a member of The Winston-Salem Alliance and served as a member of the National Advisory Committee for the Reynolda House Museum of American Art. Bierman earned his bachelor's degree in history and French from Georgetown University and his master's degree in architecture from the University of Virginia. He studied abroad at the Institut d’Études Sciences Politiques de Paris and completed internships at Sotheby’s, the National Gallery of Art and on Capitol Hill.
