Freeman Edward "Ed" Broadwell Jr.

Ed Broadwell, a member of the NC Banking Hall of Fame, is the retired chairman and chief executive officer of HomeTrust Bank, which experienced significant growth during his almost 50-year tenure. Broadwell’s previous community service includes the Haywood Community College Foundation’s Charter Board of Directors, the Mission HealthCare Foundation Board of Directors, 12 years on the UNC System Board of Governors, and eight years on the Western Carolina University Board of Trustees. He is the recipient of many awards and recognitions, including his 2013 induction into the Order of The Long Leaf Pine, the highest award for state service, granted by the Office of the Governor. Broadwell is a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
