The horrific events that took the lives of George Floyd, Breonna Taylor and Ahmaud Arbery, as well as many others, are not isolated to this year—these killings personify systemic failures in our society and have deeply affected us and our communities. The calls for racial justice and equity have sparked a global discussion, acknowledging how much work needs to be done, and we’re again left wondering how we can have the necessary and honest conversations with our children about racism in America.
