UNC-TV PROGRAMS TAKE HOME THREE EMMY® AWARDS AT MIDSOUTH REGIONAL EMMY AWARDS GALA IN NASHVILLE, TN
RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK, NC, 2/19/2020—UNC-TV Public Media North Carolina was awarded three Emmy Awards at the 34th Midsouth Regional Emmy Awards Gala held at the Schermerhorn Symphony Center in Nashville, Tennessee.

"I want to thank everyone here at UNC-TV for your support this past year," said UNC-TV Interim Director of Programming Galen Black. "The team could not do their job without the amazing support of everyone in this organization. I’m very proud to be a part of such a great organization and wonderful team of content creators who spend every day working to tell the story of our great state." Black was also part of the team who won the Emmy for best Arts show for the second season of Muse.

About the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences & Midsouth Regional Emmy Awards
Founded in 1957, The National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences (NATAS) is dedicated to the advancement of the arts and sciences of television and the promotion of creative leadership for artistic, educational and technical achievements within the television industry. NATAS membership consists of broadcast and media professionals in 19 regional chapters across the country.
Materials broadcast, cablecast or webcast in the Midsouth Region, which encompasses the states of North Carolina (except Asheville) and Tennessee, plus northern Alabama, from July 1 to June 30, 2019, were eligible for entry. Nominations are announced during the week before Thanksgiving, with awards made during a gala banquet and live telecast Saturday, February 15, from Nashville.
