Robert “Bob” Burgin
Asheville

Bob Burgin, president emeritus of Mission Hospital in Asheville, served as president and chief executive officer from 1981 to 2004, leading the Mission Health Center to become one of the most highly rated in the nation. Burgin brings a longstanding commitment to community support, including service on the North Carolina Healthy Start Foundation, the North Carolina Medical Care Commission and the United Way of Asheville and Buncombe County Board of Directors. Burgin graduated from Miami University, Oxford, Ohio, earned his Master of Health Services Administration from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, and has completed executive education programs in Health Policy/Management at Harvard University.
