Principal Director, Health Channel Content
South Florida PBS is a result of the merger of WPBT2 serving Florida’s Miami-Dade and Broward counties with WXEL serving the Palm Beaches and the Treasure Coast. This event places it in the top 10 largest Television markets in America. This is a terrific opportunity for the right candidate.
Under the general supervision of the Sr. Vice President, Content & Station Manager, the individual will assist in executing a comprehensive content strategy for the Health Channel, focusing on television broadcast, digital initiatives, and new media. This role involves overseeing the development and execution of the Health Channel’s content strategy, including original programming, acquisitions, scheduling, and on-air promotions. The candidate will write proposals for new programs/series to assist with fundraising and grant applications and provide overall supervision for program concept and development. Leading a team of content producers, writers, and editors, the individual will ensure high-quality, on-message content that attracts and retains viewers, while also managing relationships with external partners and reviewing program proposals and submissions. Additionally, the candidate will assist in planning, creating, and overseeing production pipelines and budgets, ensuring projects stay within budget and are delivered on deadline. Collaboration with other departments to align content with overall strategic goals and continual optimization of content offerings based on audience feedback and ratings data are also key responsibilities.
The ideal candidate will have a bachelor’s degree in television production, Communications, Marketing or related field with a minimum of 7 years of experience in content strategy and production. Strong leadership, management, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills are essential, along with excellent communication and collaboration abilities. The candidate should have budget management experience and the capability to work independently and make sound judgments. Experience in managing relationships with production crew and independent contractors, including talent and community partners, is required. Understanding of television equipment operations. Familiarity with Adobe Suite products, Final Cut and/or Avid; streaming video platforms; remote production tools, cloud-based storage and social media platforms. Excellent typing and computer skills along with an innovative mindset and a passion for storytelling.

Event Staff for DaVinci Immersive Experience – Part Time
South Florida PBS is seeking enthusiastic and dedicated Event Staff members to join our team for the new Da Vinci Immersive Experience. Our Event Staff will play a crucial role in ensuring a seamless and enjoyable experience for all visitors. We are looking for individuals who can handle various responsibilities including ticket counter operations, concessions, tour guiding, brand ambassadorship, and parking assistance.
As an Event Staff member for the Da Vinci Immersive Experience, you will greet and welcome guests upon entry, providing excellent customer service by proactively assisting with any questions or concerns. You will be responsible for understanding and enforcing all venue policies and procedures, taking ownership of resolving any guest challenges that arise. Strong verbal and interpersonal skills are essential as you guide guests to various locations within the venue and supply general information. Additionally, you will report any incidents to your Supervisor or Management, assist guests in locating specific areas, and ensure the safety of guests while upholding the integrity of South Florida PBS.
Key Responsibilities:
Ticket Counter: Handle ticket sales and scanning, ensuring authenticity and smooth entry for guests.
Concessions: Manage beverage and merchandise sales, maintaining cleanliness and inventory.
Tour Guide: Provide informative and engaging tours of the Da Vinci Immersive Experience, enhancing visitor understanding and enjoyment.
Brand Ambassador: Represent South Florida PBS and the Da Vinci Immersive Experience with a friendly and professional demeanor, answering questions and promoting upcoming events.
Parking Attendant: Assist with parking logistics, ensuring smooth traffic flow and safety in the parking areas.
General Assistance: Proactively help visitors by guiding them to their destinations within the venue, addressing any questions or concerns, and resolving issues that may arise.
Safety and Compliance: Monitor crowd behavior, enforce venue policies, and report any incidents to supervisors or management.
Customer Service: Provide excellent customer service to enhance the guest experience, setting a positive tone for the overall event.
Qualifications:
Applicants must be 16 years of age or older. Ideal candidates will exhibit an upbeat, friendly attitude and actively look for ways to help people. The ability to work positively in a fast-paced environment, along with excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills, is essential. Candidates must be able to convey information effectively, listen attentively, and work effectively within a team. Adherence to the dress code and maintaining a clean, presentable appearance at all times is required. The position demands standing and/or walking for long periods.
Work Schedule:
Approximately 10-25 hours per week, primarily nights, weekends, and possibly holidays.

Freelance TV Production Audio Engineer Opportunities
Freelance Television Production Audio Engineer opportunities are occasionally available for South Florida PBS productions. This freelance position is responsible for ensuring high-quality audio during live and prerecorded television broadcasts. Responsibilities include configuring and setting up microphones, audio mixers, amplifiers, and other equipment required for the broadcast. Performs sound checks before the live broadcast to ensure audio levels are balanced and clear. Controls and adjusts audio levels during the broadcast to maintain clarity and consistency. This includes mixing audio from various sources, such as microphones, pre-recorded segments, and music. Proficiency in operating audio equipment and software is essential. Knowledge of industry-standard audio consoles, microphones, signal processing equipment, and digital audio workstations (DAWs) is a must. Must be reliable, organized, and self-motivated. Grants Manager
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced candidate to join our Development team. Directly responsible for researching, drafting, writing, and typically submitting, then monitoring and managing effective and professional grant proposals and reports as well as other assigned writing projects. Will liaison between South Florida PBS and the funder in a meaningful way to steward effective relationships. Documents will be submitted to government agencies, private companies, foundations, corporations, individuals, and trusts for both general operating revenue and designated projects that support the mission and vision of SFPBS. The manager will be responsible for maintaining strong grantor relationships as assigned, internally and externally. In addition, the manager will be researching, identifying, and stewarding new opportunities ongoing.
Bachelor's or master's degree in grant writing, communications, English, business, non-profit management, or equivalent. A Grant Professional Certification preferred. Minimum of five years of grant writing experience, preferably in the South Florida area. Minimum of five years of previous experience with non-profit fundraising preferred. Proficient in MS Office Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Knowledge of Blackbaud preferred. Proficient in measuring and reaching income goals. Ability to work independently, yet collaboratively, according to the goals of the department. Strong written communication skills; ability to write transparently, structured, persuasively, excellent editing skills. Exceptional knowledge of fundraising information sources. Strong people skills. Ability to meet and exceed deadlines is essential. A sense of humor is important.
This position is hybrid with primary office currently located at SFPBS Studio in Boynton Beach.

Assistant to the Managing Director, Development & Administrative Specialist
This is an excellent opportunity for the right candidate to join our team. Under the general supervision of the Managing Director, the Assistant to the Managing Director Development and Administrative Specialist manages administrative support for the director including special projects and communications along with limited data services. This position participates in development team meetings and manages multiple projects simultaneously while contributing to accomplishing division goals. Must maintain confidentiality including, but not limited to, all donor/prospect information, have excellent communications and writing skills as well as a sense of humor.
The main functions of this position include coordinating and performing administrative tasks for the Managing Director in a timely and accurate fashion and liaisons with the development team and other SFPBS staff routinely. Provides professional administrative support by drafting and revising correspondence, revising, and editing collaterals, processing expense reports, scheduling meetings including those with donors, development team members, SFPBS staff while maintaining the development calendar. Maintains division supplies. Maintains master PTO calendar and provides monthly updates to the Managing Director. Supports Principal Director of Data, Research and Development Services to facilitate donor recognition including On-Air spots and marketing materials to ensure appropriate donor recognition and stewardship plans in consultation with the team.
College graduate with additional formalized training as it relates development services, business administration, public relations, and special events is desirable. Two years minimum experience in development services including “expertise” in Blackbaud and data management and preparing donor/prospect reports, corporate administration, information management, marketing/public relations, office management, and development administration. Familiar with development accounting and finance practices. Knowledge of philanthropic giving and donor relations practices. Takes initiative and can work independently, resourcefully, and creatively. Ability to effectively communicate orally and in writing. Performs basic mathematical calculations and analyses. Has attention to detail, meeting and exceeding deadlines are vital to this position.

Major Gifts Officer - North
This is an excellent opportunity for the right candidate to join our team. Full-time position, directly responsible for devising and managing comprehensive and effective strategies for the acquisition of major and planned gifts from capable and qualified current and potential donors including working to identify, engage, cultivate, solicit and steward individual donors, prospects and family foundations. This includes devising effective strategic planning and face to face meetings to ensure a strong base of ongoing financial support to fuel SFPBS’ mission and strategic plans. Manages a fluid portfolio of 125 to 150 current and potential major donors and prospects with a primary focus on Broward, Palm Beach and Martin Counties.
College graduate with emphasis on non-profit business management including major gifts fund raising, public relations, or equivalent comparable work experience. Candidates with a CFRE are preferred. Excellent writing skills are essential. Minimum of five to seven years of proven success in building strong, effective philanthropic relationships-including prospect identification, engagement, cultivation, solicitation and stewardship. Specific experience and knowledge with emphasize on a successful track record in the areas of non-profit management; major gifts; planned giving; annual giving programs; capital campaign management; foundation funding; and event planning and coordination.
Experience with Raiser’s Edge/RENXT is preferable.

Producer, On-Air Fundraising
South Florida PBS is looking for an organized and driven individual to coordinate and execute all production for quarterly live television fundraising campaigns and ongoing promotional interstitials and initiatives throughout the year. This includes writing scripts and editing footage as needed, coordinating hosts for live appeals, conducting research and making all studio and travel arrangements necessary. Helps conceptualize and executes ancillary fundraising productions/campaigns to generate increased viewership and revenue. Assists in the development and execution of special events. Works with supervisor to determine and maintain budgets.
College degree with major coursework in field of mass communications, journalism, the arts or equivalent experience. Three to five years experience as a television producer or associate producer. Working knowledge of linear and non-linear video editing and computer skills. Script writing experience a must. Knowledge of production within a fundraising environment a plus. Must be a multitasker.

Customer Services Representative (Freelance/PT)
Excellent opportunity for the right candidate to join our team. Responsible for assisting with support activities in the Member Services Department. Will assist in providing high quality member service support via telephone, e-mail, mail and in person. Will work independently and as part of a team to resolve a diverse set of issues for viewers and members. Manages members account regarding inquiries, billing issues, premiums, data entry and more. Assist with and may be required to attend on-air pledge drives, concerts and special events designed to cultivate and strengthen relationship with members and viewers. During campaigns will supervise and train volunteers as needed. Assists in the maintenance and accuracy of all entries into all associated databases as well as the online donation website.
Ideal candidate will be a high school graduate with one year of customer service experience. Has working knowledge of Microsoft Office. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail is a must! Good oral and written communication and people skills with a keen ability to relate well with others is essential to this position. This position requires a flexible schedule; will work occasional nights and weekends. Must have good comprehensive and documentation skills, strong time management skills and must maintain excellent attendance.

Member Services Representative

The Member Services Representative will report directly to the VP of Membership and is responsible for promptly assisting customers, members, and contributors with inquiries via phone, mail, or email. Duties encompass responding to queries, complaints, and comments. Key responsibilities include managing customer inquiries, overseeing member accounts, coordinating with vendors for membership-related processes, supporting the SFPBS Passport streaming service, processing matching gift donations, maintaining accurate database information, handling sustainers' accounts, supporting membership events, overseeing volunteers during live nights, acting as a backup for database connections, and participating in on-air fundraising campaigns.
The ideal candidate should hold a high school diploma or equivalent and possess a minimum of three years of customer service experience. Must exhibit proficiency in Microsoft Office, and demonstrate excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and both oral and written communication abilities. Professionalism is essential, demanding a high standard of conduct, communication, and presentation, embodying SFPBS’s values and maintaining a polished and respectful demeanor in all interactions. They should be adaptable, work well under pressure, manage time effectively, and showcase strong computer skills. This role may require extended hours during fundraising campaigns.
