9/8c: Dia de los Muertos
Enjoy a musical celebration of this much-anticipated and highly celebrated fiesta by people of Mexican heritage everywhere. Special guests include Latino rock greats, Los Lobos, the salsa-rap-reggae-funk of Ozomatli—both Los Angeles-based—and the all-female mariachi band Flor de Toloache from New York City.
10/9c: Ghosts of the Elysian Arms: Theater of the Mind
It is a stormy night on Highway One in the summer of 1940, and Al Geery's Studebaker Dictator smashes into a Plymouth convertible head on. Mr. Geery is surprised to wake up unscathed in the twisted wreckage of his automobile, and even more surprised when the mysterious Mr. Maro escorts him to the towering Elysian Arms Hotel, where each room is occupied by a singular and frightening story. A 1940's style radio drama, complete with actors, music and sound effects.
Channel 13.3 (WNMU-PLUS):
11/10c: Midnight Tales in Shadow Wood: Theater of the Mind
Gather 'round the fire and shiver at these tales of urban legends and their mysterious spirits. KTWU presents another radio play drama, in partnership with Playwright, Phil Grecian. Journey throughout historic New England collecting tales of the supernatural, the unexplained, and the mysterious — spooky stories of ghosts, spirits, witches
and even a vampire!
