Kristen says, "I love reading, so we've made sure to read to our daughter, Olivia, (almost) every night since she was born." She and her husband, Wayne read all kinds of books with a wide variety of topics. Wayne's "Escargot voice is on point." They love visiting the library and have even created their own little children's library in their home. Some of Olivia's "current favorites are The Pigeon books, Sir Pancake and Lady French Toast books, The Little Acorn (and the others in the series), and the Llama Llama Books. She also enjoys books that relate to shows she's seen on TV." Kristen is inspired by strong women and she enjoys sharing books about those amazing women with Olivia. Their favorite place to read together is in Olivia's bed at bedtime. Olivia stays busy on car rides with seek and find books as well. Kristen hopes "that Olivia will continue to love books as she grows and look forward to reading chapter books to her, and having her read to us!"

Thank you to our book-worm family of Marquette for participating in the challenge, and Congratulations!

See if you can figure out where D.C.'s mistake is.

This is a clip from the TV series Math Mights. Find full episodes on the Michigan Learning Channel: https://www.michiganlearning.org/

Math Mights are a way to tie math strategies to characters that will help students understand math processes differently than just solving problems one way. This series promotes students’ communicated reasoning so they are able to confidently explain their thinking. It also provides a common language in schools so students can learn about the characters and the strategies in kindergarten and apply the same strategies to higher level concepts as they grow.
