Vegas PBS History

When Vegas PBS began broadcasting in 1968, our studio was housed in a converted auto body shop and equipped with monochrome cameras. Editing was linear: Editors cut and spliced film together by hand. Despite our somewhat humble beginnings, Vegas PBS became an important hub in the Las Vegas community. In the 1970s and 1980s, Vegas PBS’ production studio hosted Las Vegas legends like Frank Sinatra, Sammy Davis, Jr. and Liberace. Over the years, Vegas PBS continued to host numerous high-profile clients, as well as leaders in the community, business, government and education. Vegas PBS worked to expand programming, embrace new technology and serve the community. Today, Vegas PBS is one of the most technologically advanced and highly regarded television stations in the United States.
