HEALTHCARE SUPPLY CHAIN
In this episode of Idaho Jobs Explained, we visit St. Luke’s Consolidated Service Center to explore healthcare supply chain careers. We follow the people and systems that help medical supplies move from storage shelves to hospitals, clinics, and patients across Idaho.
Hospitals need thousands of supplies every day, from basic items like gloves and cleaning products to the tools needed for surgeries and emergency care. But how does all of that get to the right place at the right time?
Inside the CSC, team members use automation, inventory systems, and robots to help pick, pack, and ship thousands of totes each day. Every order matters because those supplies may be needed for a real patient, procedure, or emergency. Healthcare is not just doctors and nurses. It also takes people behind the scenes making sure hospitals have what they need to care for their communities.
Special thanks to the folks at St. Luke's Health System and the Idaho Department of Education.
