Meet the Education Staff

Nick Lero is an Education Services Associate, a position he has held since February 2023. Nick was born in Colombia and was raised in the Twin Cities. He graduated from North Dakota State University with a Bachelor's of Music in Instrumental Music Education, as well as a Minor in Vocal Music Education. He has worked a variety of jobs, including a staff member at the Mary Ann Young Senior Center in Blaine, MN, and as a substitute teacher for Fargo Public Schools. He believes that public media's strength is its freedom from financial influence and bias, which has become increasingly rare, in his opinion. Educationally, he believes in hands-on, lived experiences for learners, as well as honesty, collaboration between students, and cross-curricular activities. Outside of work, Nick enjoys running, playing basketball, and performing and composing music.
