WUCF Passport FAQs

WUCF Passport is a member benefit that provides WUCF donors with extended on-demand access to a rich library of public television programs. Passport members can view content on a computer, tablet or smartphone, as well as a television using a streaming video device such as Roku or Apple TV.

The WUCF Passport library grows every week as more series and episodes are added. Passport members can currently access more than 1,500 episodes representing many genres, including drama, science, history and the arts, as well as WUCF locally produced programs, such as Central Florida Roadtrip.

WUCF Passport is an added benefit available to donors that contribute $60 or more annually, or at least a $5 ongoing monthly donation. WUCF Passport is not a subscription service and cannot be purchased separately.

Yes, free is not going away. Many of our programs are available for free on various digital platforms including On Demand at WUCF.org, PBS.org, PBS mobile applications, and the PBS channels on Roku, AppleTV, and other streaming services. And of course, PBS and WUCF programs will continue to be broadcast to the public for free, over the air.

Many PBS programs are available for free online viewing after they air. After approximately two weeks, many become available exclusively to Passport members. WUCF also offers many locally produced specials and WUCF original productions in Passport.

Yes, an email address is required. WUCF needs a Facebook, Google, or PBS account to recognize a user should have access to Passport and to give that user Passport access on our sites and apps.

No. Each WUCF Passport can only be tied to one Google, Facebook, or PBS account. Households will have to share their login credentials unless their membership allows for multiple Passport accounts.

There is no limit to the number of devices you can be signed into at one time.

No. Since WUCF Passport is for online streaming, all you need is a network connection and a device compatible with the PBS website or applications.

No, episodes are uploaded for online streaming after the episodes premiere on television the first time.

No, a network connection is required to stream video content. Third parties, such as Amazon and iTunes, may offer certain video downloads for a price.

All PBS streaming video - including WUCF Passport - is available only within the United States due to the streaming right PBS holds.

PBS only has streaming rights within the United States, so as long as you are traveling within the country you will have access to Passport videos. When you visit a new area, that area will have a different local station - when using the PBS website or apps please change the local station to WUCF to ensure full access.

Current members who donate $60 or more annually and have an active email address on file with the station will have received an email from PBS and WUCF inviting you to begin the activation process. There's a chance the email may get filtered into your spam/junk folder, so be sure to look there for the message.

To see if your WUCF Passport has been activated, visit the Member Lookup page and enter your email address. If no membership comes up, email us. Most likely we didn't have an email address on file to create your account, or it is linked to an old email address we had for you.

Please note that after you donate, it can take up to two business days to receive your activation code. Next, check your spam/junk folder. If the email is not there, please email Member Services or call 407-823-0899. Be sure you are checking the same email account you used when you signed up for WUCF Passport.

It can take up to two business days to receive your activation code following your donation. If it'd been more than two days, visit the Member Lookup page and follow the directions. If no membership comes up, email us.

A list of compatible devices is maintained at this public PBS Help Page.

Yes. To watch on a television set, you will need a streaming device compatible with your television and PBS, such as AppleTV, Roku, or Amazon Fire TV. First, you'll need to activate your WUCF Passport account and then follow these steps for connecting your AppleTV, Roku, or Amazon Fire.

WUCF Passport is also supported on Google Chromecast, which uses the PBS App on the user's smartphone or tablet to cast the video to their television.

You can also use an HDMI cord connected to an HDMI-compatible computer and an HDMI-compatible television set, but this set-up may be challenging depending on how your home is set up.

Passport videos are designated by a blue "compass rose" icon.

While WUCF Passport does offer an expanded library of programs, PBS is not always able to obtain the online streaming rights for every program. Online streaming rights for programs may also expire, meaning a particular program that was available at one time, may not be available at a later time. PBS does make an effort to keep as many programs available as possible.

While PBS Kids shows are not available in WUCF Passport, you can watch them for free by downloading the PBS Kids Video app.

WUCF Passport Activation and Troubleshooting

1. Please note that after you donate, it can take up to two business days to receive/generate your activation code.

2. We do not have an email address for you. Please contact us by email at Member Services or call 407-823-0899 (8 a.m. - 5 p.m., Monday-Friday).

3. Or, you already activated your WUCF Passport benefit under a different email address from the email you entered in the Member Lookup. You may have used an old or different email address, or, perhaps a different member of the household activated the account with their email address. Try signing in with a different email address. If that does not work, contact us by email at Member Services or call 407-823-0899.

It takes up to two business days to receive your activation code. If it has been longer than that, the activation email may have gone to your spam folder, please check for it there. If you never received an activation code, you can get another one sent to you by entering your email address into the Member Lookup, by emailing us or calling us at 407-823-0899 (8 a.m. - 5 p.m., Monday-Friday).

When activating WUCF Passport you were prompted to sign in using either a Google, Facebook, or PBS account. That login information is now linked to your IdahoPTV Passport account and you must always use that same login information when signing in to WUCF Passport. If you do not remember which option you chose, you can try each of them without doing harm to your accounts. If you need to, you can reset your password.

You should have also received an email telling you which account you used to activate WUCF Passport. The email's subject is "WUCF Passport Activation Confirmation".

If you do not remember your password, you can reset your password. You will be sent an email to the address you specify. When you get the email, follow the steps to reset your password.
