Democratic National Convention coverage concludes

The 2020 Democratic National Convention has concluded after four nights, with former Vice President Joe Biden officially accepting the presidential nomination from the Democratic Party. Sen. Kamala Harris will be his running mate in the election.

PBS NewsHour provided full coverage of the event for all four nights, and will do the same for the Republican National Convention which begins Monday, August 24. Coverage is anticipated to run on Rocky Mountain PBS from 6pm to 9pm each night of the convention.

We have compiled highlights from each night of the convention below.

Highlights from Night 1 of the convention

Highlights from Night 2 of the convention

Speakers for Night 2 of the Democratic convention included Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, former President Bill Clinton, and former second lady Jill Biden.

After the socially-distanced roll call vote on Night 2, Joe Biden officially become the presidential nominee for the Democratic Party.

Highlights from Night 3 of the convention

On the third night of the Democratic convention, Sen. Kamala Harris was officially nominated as the Vice Presidential candidate for the Democratic Party. She is the third woman and both the first Black and first Asian American woman to be nominated for VP by a major party.

Other speakers on Night 3 included former President Barack Obama, House speaker Nancy Pelosi, former Secretary of State and presidential candidate Hillary Clinton, Sen. Elizabeth Warren, and former Rep. Gabby Giffords.

The fourth and final night of the Democratic convention featured former Vice President Joe Biden officially accepting the nomination from the Democratic Party.

Sen. Cory Booker, Gov. Gavin Newsom, Mayor Pete Buttigieg, and Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms also spoke.
