Nancy Wilson - Jazz Profiles Host


Nancy was born on February 20th, 1937 in Chillicothe, Ohio, and as a young girl began singing in church choirs.

Nancy performed with a wide range of stellar entertainers from Nat King Cole, Billy Eckstine, Cannonball Adderley and Louis Jordan to LaVerne Baker, Dinah Washington, Ella Fitzgerald, Sarah Vaughan, and Ruth Brown.

In addition to her recording career, Nancy worked in radio and television, acted in theatrical productions and hosted music programs, including her Emmy Award-winning NBC-TV variety series, "The Nancy Wilson Show." Fans may recognize her distinctive voice from national television commercials for Infinity automobiles. Nancy was especially proud of her role as a spokesperson for several humanitarian causes.

Nancy passed away on December 13, 2018. 89.9 Jazz & More continues to honor her legacy by airing recorded "Jazz Profiles" programs from the large catalog of great work she left behind.
