PBS Reno Hires Graphic Designer
RENO, NV (MAY 11, 2026) – PBS Reno has hired Kate Hirschfelt for the role of Graphic Designer. Hirschfelt started May 4, 2026.
Kate brings five years of experience in print, layout, branding, logo, and infographic design to PBS Reno. An avid environmentalist, she has contributed to projects focused on safe and accessible transportation, sustainable trail stewardship, and clean water and sanitation initiatives for local municipalities. Most recently, she worked at a local interior design firm as a Graphic Designer and Strategic Project Manager. However, she is especially proud of her work as a freelance designer, where she developed infographics to support research findings published by the UC Davis Consumer Energy Interfaces Lab and the Institute for Transportation Studies.
“I am excited to bring my strong community focus to my work at PBS Reno, creating designs that reach diverse audiences and make a meaningful impact,” said Hirschfelt. “I look forward to producing work that strengthens community connections and celebrates culture, diversity, and education. I am proud to support PBS Reno in promoting public broadcasting at a time when access to unbiased, reliable information is more important than ever.”
As a PBS Reno Graphic Designer, Kate will create visually compelling materials that elevate the PBS Reno brand across multiplatform and print channels. She will blend creativity with strategic thinking, ensuring each piece is visually engaging, on-brand, and purposeful. She will also manage multiple projects simultaneously, adapt designs based on feedback, and stay inspired by current design trends and emerging tools.
“Kate brings a strong background in visual design, print production, branding, and digital marketing, with experience creating campaigns across print, social media, and large-format materials,” said Yunis Cho, PBS Reno Director of Marketing. “We are thrilled to welcome Kate to PBS Reno and look forward to the creativity, energy, and talent she will bring to the team.”
