RENO, NV (APR 9, 2026) – PBS Reno is thrilled to announce the results of its Member Match Campaign, which took place between March 1 and March 31, 2026.

The Greg Nelson Trust – Warren Nelson Family matched all financial contributions made to PBS Reno up to $65,000. In total, PBS Reno raised $460,214 from PBS Reno supporters who made financial contributions over the phone, online, or sent written correspondence throughout the month.

“One of the many things that distinguishes this community is the way people and organizations step up when the opportunity presents itself,” said Kurt Mische, PBS Reno President & CEO. “The Greg Nelson Trust – Warren Nelson Family did just that in providing this matching grant which made our March fundraising campaign that much more successful. Matching gifts like this one inspire and motivate others to give to support vital community organizations like PBS Reno.”

The generous $65,000 from The Greg Nelson Trust – Warren Nelson Family will boost PBS Reno’s Curiosity Classroom workshop initiative, which reaches more than 128,000 students in nine school districts in the region. Financial contributions from the community will not only be used for Curiosity Classroom workshops; the monies raised will support Wild Nevada, ARTEFFECTS and other local productions, and pay the costs associated with bringing Masterpiece, Antiques Roadshow, and many more PBS favorites to the PBS Reno schedule.

“This matching grant response speaks volumes about our supporters,” said Barbara Winter, PBS Reno Director of Membership. “Our community values the power of public television and has taken every opportunity, from the loss of federal funding to our matching gift campaign, to protect its future. Their generosity doubled the impact of every gift and reminds us how lucky we are to serve such dedicated donors.”
