MPB Television programming on our main channel will change from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday to educational content for PreK-12 students.

The public broadcasting station in Kentucky, KET, has created a 15–minute current events program for students that help keep them in the know about current events in the world. News Quiz offers short news stories, a corresponding quiz and other resources. Parents can encourage their children to watch this for enrichment or teachers can make it a part of their weekly class lesson. The host is engaging and students will like it. Art School is a KQED web video series that introduces contemporary artists who discuss their careers and intentions, then demonstrate hands-on techniques or concepts. Art School provides resources for learning how to break dance, draw comic strips, create animations, and much more.

PBS NewsHour Extra helps teachers and students identify the who, what, when, where, and why-it-matters of major national and international news stories. In partnership with PBS LearningMedia, we are proud to bring you the Daily News Storywhich takes the best of the PBS NewsHour news program and pairs it with discussion questions, lesson plans, and stories developed specifically for students.

PATT is an initiative that focus on families learning together. It’s a parent early childhood training support initiative that provides parents of early learners with teaching tools and strategies for working with their children at home. 

Getting to Work MS helps advance education and career readiness locally. MPB collaborates with partners across the state to assess workforce challenges and opportunities, and produce content focused on the essential skills needed for students and workers to succeed.

PBS’ first app designed specifically for parents, PBS Parents Play & Learn provides more than a dozen games parents can play with their kids, each themed around a familiar location.

When a parent, caregiver, or other loved one becomes ill with COVID-19 and is isolated, the whole family struggles. But there are ways to comfort and reassure children, to offer clear honest explanations, and to stay connected to the person who is sick.
