The Frank

It's the largest forested wilderness in the lower 48, larger even than some states. Outside of Alaska, only Death Valley Wilderness is larger. So how did the Frank Church River of No Return Wilderness become law?

We explore that question with a handful of folks who were there and who helped make it happen.

News & Notes

Outdoor Idaho entered its 39th season with a program called Salmon Reckoning,” a deep dive into the complicated and controversial issue of keeping Idaho’s salmon from going extinct. That was followed by Spud Country,” our hour-long examination into the culture, the trials and tribulations, the joys and rewards of growing what are arguably the best potatoes in the country. The hour-long The Next Chapter explored what some agencies and individuals are doing to adjust to changing times. It’s a show where “change” is not so scary!  And in June we produced a show called “Wildflowers.”

The hour-long "40th Anniversary" will air in October of 2022. Other shows currently in the pipeline include programs on adaptive sports, the Bitterroots, and Rodeos.
