Community Engagement Program Leader: (Updated 4/20/2022)
KBTC Public Television is looking for fun, reliable, caring and professional individuals to lead after-school and summer activities at sites around Tacoma. If you enjoy working with children, love PBS Kids programs and want to give back to your community, this is the job for you! Flexible schedule up to 15 hours a week. Starting pay of $19.25 per hour.
This temporary, part time position is responsible for leading activities as part of KBTC’s out-of-school time and summer programs. Option for staff to continue to work year-round if interested. Community Engagement Program Leaders will use PBS Kids resources to prepare activities and curriculum for day camp and summer camp settings. Individuals will also:
Collect and report on attendance data and other data as directed
Collaborate with Community Engagement Manager on implementing social emotional learning practices
Evaluate, review and report on education outreach efforts regularly
Facilitate family engagement activities to foster relationship building, collaboration and family support
Identify and address improvements to working together to authentically support children in the community
Provide support and mentorship to youth through positive reinforcement and intentional and inclusive practices.
Participate in special events as needed
Create marketing materials as needed
