Access classroom-ready resources inspired by Pioneer PBS documentaries
Pioneer PBS documentaries offer a unique perspective into the artistic practices of Scandinavian and Native communities in America, particularly in southwest and western Minnesota. These videos showcase the efforts of master artists and craftspeople in preserving their cultural identity through practices such as Sami-inspired bracelet making, Dakota quill working, Norwegian knifemaking and Dakota beadworking. The classroom-ready resources provided by Pioneer PBS are an excellent tool for educators to impart knowledge about these cultural traditions to younger generations. By exploring these resources, students can gain a deeper understanding and appreciation for the rich cultural heritage of these communities.

It's not too late to participate in Give to the Max Day 2025. Your support today helps Pioneer PBS continue uplifting local stories and sharing our region’s voices with the world. Recent federal cuts removed a third of our funding, so we need your help now more than ever.
Every donation through GiveMN.org—qualifies us for “Golden Ticket” lottery prize grants awarded throughout the day. Plus, every contribution, no matter the amount, made between now and midnight will be matched by our Board, allowing your support to go even further to support the programming you love.
All of us at Pioneer PBS want to say thank you as a very challenging year draws to a close. Your ongoing support ensures that we can continue to bring the world to you and share your stories with the world.
This year, Pioneer PBS:
As we head into year-end, your generosity continues to protect the work our communities rely on. Thank you for being part of the Pioneer PBS family.
If you'd like to make a year-end gift, you can do so here — and thank you for all you make possible for our shared region. We are committed to staying here in service to you. We do what we do for you, but we cannot do it without you.
