BOULDER, Colo. — The City of Boulder has created a way for the community to safely mourn the victims of the King Soopers shooting.
The city came up with the idea for a collective moment of silence, called “Ten Together,” as a way to remember the ten victims killed in the March 22 shooting at the Table Mesa King Soopers.
The victims were:
- Denny Stong, 20 years old
- Neven Stanisic 23 years old
- Rikki Olds, 25 years old
- Tralona Bartkowiak, 49 years old
- Suzanne Fountain, 59 years old
- Teri Leiker, 51 years old
- Eric Talley, 51 years old
- Kevin Mahoney, 61 years old
- Lynn Murray, 62 years old
- Jody Waters, 65 years old

Until April 5, Coloradans—and anyone else who would like to join from across the nation—are encouraged to step outside each night at 8 p.m. and take 10 slow breaths, followed by a 10 minute moment of silence.
“Each breath and each minute is to honor the lives lost in the tragic Boulder shooting,” officials with the City of Boulder wrote.
People can also put lights or electric candles in their windows each night to show support.
The City of Boulder has also provided a series of resources—printable posters, social media graphics, and even yard signs—that people can download and use to show their support.
