Filmed at E.J. Thomas Hall in Akron, THE REMEMBER BALLOONS LIVE! is a heartwarming dance-theater adaptation exploring memory, family, love and loss through the journey of a young boy and his grandfather. Featuring behind-the-scenes footage and interviews, the film celebrates the local artists whose original choreography and soulful music brought Jessie Oliveros’ adored children’s book to life.

With dynamic storytelling and deeply emotional themes, THE REMEMBER BALLOONS LIVE! invites audiences of all ages to explore the power of remembrance and connection while fostering meaningful conversations about aging and Alzheimer’s disease. The production’s universal message resonates with families and communities, offering a space to reflect on the importance of preserving personal histories and cherishing shared moments.

Created by award-winning choreographer Dominic Moore-Dunson and renowned composer Theron Brown, THE REMEMBER BALLOONS LIVE! is more than a performance — it is an invitation for families to come together, share their stories and celebrate the bonds that endure across generations. Through the transformative power of the arts, this production provides an unforgettable experience that touches hearts and inspires conversations that matter.
