Permanent Positions:

Copy Editor / Copywriter

PBS NC is looking for a full-time, self-motivated, multitasking Copy Editor/Copywriter in the RTP area (remote until Fall 2021). The primary purpose of the Copy Editor/Copywriter is to act as the voice of the PBS North Carolina brand. Through copywriting and collateral, this position generates overall brand awareness, promotes programming and supports numerous fundraising efforts. This role is responsible for the development of strategic messaging and support materials for advertising and fundraising, writing and editing copy for the monthly program guide, other publications, and preparing copy and related content for distribution across PBS North Carolina’s channels including website, email, and press releases, among others. This role requires ideation and creating of advertising platforms and campaigns as well as writing of attention-grabbing advertising headlines. This position requires the ability to work with a great deal of independence, exercising sound judgment, and operating with a high level of understanding of organizational mission, goals, and strategies. Responsibilities include: copy editing/formatting monthly periodical. Copy editing/revising emails, copy, press releases, scripts, speeches and white papers. Ideation of strategic platform statements and attention-grabbing headlines for advertising and fundraising campaigns. Writing of scripts, press releases, speeches, ad copy. Upholding and expanding internal style guide, reinforcing ongoing rebrand.


Minimum requirements include a bachelor's degree in a discipline related to the area of assignment; or equivalent combination of training and experience.  All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.
