Around the Corner with John McGivern - Eau Claire
Eau Claire really IS the definition of a Courtrenaissance. As John Gurda said, if you were familiar with this northwestern Wisconsin city 20 years ago, you’re not familiar with it now unless you live in Eau Claire! The new Pablo Center for the Arts, lighted bridges and public art, many company headquarters and Phoenix Park have transformed downtown EC. Old foundational places that could never be replaced, like the Court House and the Paul Bunyan Logging Camp Museum, retain the roots of this city. And new things in old spaces, like the Lismore and Oxbow hotels, Banbury Place in the old Uniroyal plant, and tons of renovation on the UW-EC Campus prove a commitment to reinvestment and renovation. Eau Claire was the perfect place to finish our eighth season!
Outdoor Wisconsin - grouse and woodcock hunt in Ashland County
Outdoor Wisconsin ends its' 34th season at the UW-Waukesha field station with students working to preserve the land's native plants and animals - which took one man and many volunteers over fifty years to bring back to Wisconsin. And Mark Nissen, of Classic Bird Hunts, guides Dan Small on a grouse and woodcock hunt in Ashland County, then prepares a wild game birthday lunch at Clam Lake Lodge.
We learn students in the Culinary Arts program at Milwaukee Area Technical College (MATC) want to transform themselves into culinary professionals. Step into the kitchen labs as they learn the basics--from how to hold their knife, to knife cuts, to egg cookery.
