Director of Sales & Marketing – Health Channel

This is an excellent opportunity for the right sales professional to join our team! Under the general supervision of the Managing Director SFPBS, The Health Chanel and Comtel Inc. the Director of Sales and Underwriting will be responsible for participating in identifying, developing, and signing partnership, sponsorship and advertising deals that drive new and existing revenue for the company’s media properties, particularly for the Health Channel.

The Director of Sales & Marketing will create, execute, and drive revenue growth for The Health Channel, WPBT, WXEL and COMTEL Inc. through underwriting, creating strategic partnerships, and integrating sponsors messages in the TV and digital outlets available from these highly regarded media properties. Introduce advertisers and agencies to PBS TV and Digital properties. Find innovative ways to engage and deliver value to sponsors who are new to PBS. Cultivate new relationships with corporations, ad agencies, and local businesses. Convert sponsors and advertisers from your existing book of business to reach the PBS audience through the SFPBS properties online and over the air. Work collaboratively and strategically with your supervisor to deliver the highest possible returns for the company. Closing business through a strong volume of calls, meetings, and proposals is paramount to success in covering the large territory this position provides. Creating growth through new strategic partnership opportunities for specific programming projects. Develop, maintain and present marketing materials and data through strong enthusiastic presentations. Collaborate with colleagues to develop a winning mixture that delivers results.

Ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of five 5 years demonstrated experience in selling broadcast and digital sponsorships, advertising and underwriting. Experience in Public Relations, Corporate Communication and Branding are highly desirable and essential, with relationships directly with big corporations and corporate sponsors. Proven experience in prospecting, building and closing strategic partnerships. A solid book of business and history of performance. Active client base in South Florida with strong documented record of revenue growth. Excellent computer skills with a strong proficiency in PowerPoint and Excel. Experience with RE preferred. Able to work independently. Demonstrated success in account management, communications and/or marketing. Proficient with creating compelling presentations. Ability to work remotely and still deliver strong sales results. A strong, enthusiastic spirit that allows you to see opportunity at every turn. Candidates with PBS underwriting background will be strongly considered.

Health Channel Social Media Marketing Coordinator

South Florida PBS is looking for an enterprising Social Media Marketing Coordinator to create posts and coordinate social media efforts across all Health Channel platforms, including, but not limited to Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, YouTube and Podcasts. Identify and implement best practices for the Health Channel’s social media growth and engagement. Ability to generate social media reports showing metrics and growth. Leverage and apply health and wellness knowledge to the social media efforts. Candidate will market and promote the Heath Channel’s programs, services, website and other offerings.

Successful candidates will possess expertise in multiple social media platforms. Ability to deliver creative content. Familiarity with online marketing strategies and marketing channels. Excellent oral and written communication skills a must. Must be reliable, organized, and self-motivated. All experience levels encouraged to apply.

Staff Accountant

South Florida PBS is looking for an individual to provide support to the Finance Department by managing daily accounting tasks, primarily related to accounts receivable, payroll, and the monthly closing process for all SFPBS operations.

Reporting to the Controller and the CFO, the Staff Accountant will be responsible for updating accounts receivable and processing invoices and providing reports and support to underwriters and management. Data entry through Raisers Edge, posting payment to Financial Edge and maintain up-to-date billing records. Provide back-up for all payroll processing tasks in ADP for the entire organization, as well as entering new employees, changes, reviewing for errors, and downloading and entering bi-monthly payroll journal entries. Run and review the Accounts Receivable Aging reports for all lines of business. Reconcile Accounts Receivable ledgers to the balance sheet, audit ledgers and follow-up with discrepancies and execute corrections. Provides Controller support during monthly accounting close.

BS/BA in Accounting or relevant field preferred. Three years plus, proven experience as a junior/staff accountant. Payroll processing experience with ADP a plus. Experience working in a general ledger package; Strick confidentiality with sensitive financial data. Experience working effectively with senior/executive management teams.

Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Good understanding of accounting and financial reporting principles and practices. Excellent knowledge of MS Office, especially Excel. Financial Edge and/or Raiser’s Edge a plus.

This position will work out of our North Facility located in Boynton Beach, FL.

South Florida PBS is looking to hire an experienced and dynamic Part-Time Administrative Assistant to support the Chief Operating Officer and the Sr. Vice President, Engineering & Technology. In this role, you will work independently to perform administrative and operations support, represent SFPBS with the highest level of professionalism, and work with a high level of confidentiality. This role will include interactions with high-level contacts, both internally and externally, and have exposure to sensitive information requiring use of tact, diplomacy, discretion, and judgement.

Maintains appointment schedules, prioritizes inquiries, administers correspondence, manages incoming calls, emails, and mail. Establishes orderly system of filing and interoffice communications procedures. Ensures that administrative procedures are followed; manages deadlines and assists in preparation for employee evaluations. Act as liaison with other departments to share information.

Candidate must be a High School graduate or equivalent. Considerable knowledge of business procedures, i.e., corporate structures, etc. Professional Administrative Certificate of Excellence (PACE) and/or Certified Administrative Professional (CAP) preferred. Three to five years prior executive secretarial/administrative assistant experience working with a corporate executive. Extensive knowledge of English, spelling, punctuation, office practices and procedures. Proficient with videoconferencing platforms like Zoom, Skype, and GoToMeeting as well as proficiency with Microsoft Office.

Requires strong computer and Internet research skills, flexibility, excellent interpersonal skills, and project coordination experience. Organized and able to manage and coordinate schedules. Sound judgment, initiative, and accuracy. Ability to follow through on assignments in a conscientious manner with minimum or no supervision. Unquestionable integrity and confidentiality.
