Title: Education Project Manager

Department: Education
Reports to: VP of Education
FULL-TIME POSITION: 40 Hours A Week, salary non-exempt, on-site Monday - Friday

Salary Range: $60,000 - $65,000


 

JOB SUMMARY:

The Education Project Manager is responsible for overseeing the scheduling, staffing and follow-up of all projects involving the Education Department. This person is highly organized and is an excellent communicator with demonstrated experience in teaching and/or education administration. The Education Project Manager schedules events/activities for the Education Services department. This person’s leadership demonstrates high-quality planning, scheduling, implementation, and evaluation of education programs and services across the viewing area. This role encompasses department operations, educational leadership, and partner coordination. The Education Project Manager supports a positive and engaging work environment and works collaboratively with the Vice President, Director and Coordinators of Education.
 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Department Leadership & Operations:

  • Understands the Education programs offered by PBS Reno, especially Curiosity Classroom Workshops, Reading Buddies, Family Engagement, Writers Contest, JOYful Moments and STEM Works.
  • Supports strong team performance, collaboration, and accountability.
  • Leads day-to-day department operations to ensure programs are delivered effectively on schedule, and of consistent quality.
  • Supports recruitment, onboarding, training, and scheduling of interns, volunteers, and new staff members.
  • Along with the Vice President of Education, can present information about each program with staff, sponsors, donors, and members of the station and community when needed.
  • Along with the Vice President of Education, schedules and accompanies sponsors, donors, members, and community members to schools to observe our Curiosity Classroom workshop program when needed.

 

Program Implementation & Quality Assurance:

  • Oversees scheduling and delivery of Education services (virtual and in-person), including readiness of storage units, staffing, supplies, and program logistics.
  • Travels within PBS Reno viewing area to current Education outreach locations and to future locations for CC materials and expansion.
  • The Education Project Manager will work closely with the Vice President and Director of Education to learn and eventually become the lead of the annual PBS Reno Writers Contest, Nevada Reading Week, and other station events.
  • The Education Project Manager, along with the Vice President of Education, will periodically conduct assessments of Curiosity Classroom workshops and their impact on schools, teachers and students.

 

Community & School Partnerships:

  • Build and maintain relationships with schools, districts, and community organizations to support current outreach sites and identify growth opportunities.
  • Reaches into new communities to expand educational outreach services.
  • Supports establishing, prioritizing and scheduling future education projects and services.

EDUCATION AND REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s degree in education or related field is required
  • Must have successful teaching experience in Pre-K to 12th.
  • Familiarity with Nevada Academic Content Standards (NVACS) for K-12 and the Nevada Pre-Kindergarten Standards
  • Strong, positive relationship with the Washoe County School District.

 

EDUCATION AND PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

  • Master’s degree in education
  • Education administration experience in Pre-K to 12th grade a plus
  • Familiarity with Project Management Tools: (Monday.com or similar)
