April 26, 2023: We are currently experiencing a power outage at Canfield (KCDT) and our back up generator is not functioning properly. Thank you for your patience while we resolve this issue. 

April 21, 2023: We’re having a reception issue at the DirecTV headend Spokane, and KCDT (Ch. 26) is down on DirecTV. While our engineers are currently attempting to diagnose and correct this issue, it is believed to be effecting all of North Idaho, from Riggins upward, plus Eastern Washington. Thank you for your patience and understanding.

UPDATE March 31, 2023: The KAID transmitter is back up and running but viewers in the Deer Point area may continue to experience reception issues. Our engineers attempted to reach the Deer Point transmitter multiple times throughout the evening but was unsuccessful due to dangerous winter weather conditions. 
 

March 30, 2023: We are currently experiencing transmission issues for the Deer Point and KAID feeds. Engineers are being dispatched to the transmitter site to assess the issue. Thank you for your understanding and patience.  
 

March 21, 2023: There is an outage in Bear Lake County affecting the Georgetown and Montpelier Communities. Reports from the Translator District is the site is not accessible due to server snow loads and avalanche conditions, but IdahoPTV engineers are on-hand to assist in expediting repairs. Thank you for your patience while we resolve this issue. Update:This issue has now been resolved. 

UPDATE February 2, 2023: The No Business translator has been restored and viewers in the Donnelly and South McCall areas should be receiving a signal. 
 

UPDATE January 27, 2023: Our equipment has been powered up and we are transmitting once again out of our Sandpoint translator. Viewers in Bonner and Boundary counties should also be receiving a full signal. 

UPDATE January 25, 2023: The tower crew was able to secure the new antenna to the top of the Sandpoint tower and are working on attaching the transmission line and guy wires. 
 

January 24, 2023: Due to a power outage in the area, KISU is currently down. Estimated time of repair is 1pm MST. 

UPDATE January 12, 2023:   Due to weather conditions, site repairs are currently on hold for the week of Jan 23rd. A Snow Cat operator will likely deploy on the 23rd to prep the trail needed to take the engineering team in the next day. 


UPDATE December 27, 2022:  The broken antenna affecting the Sandpoint translator has been ordered - delivery and installation should occur in early January depending on weather and availability of installation crews. Viewers can still watch IdahoPTV on Dish and DirecTV, cable outlets, online through the PBS app and through the IdahoPTV website. Thank you for your understanding and patience.

UPDATE November 28, 2022:  Our Sandpoint translator is completely down due to a broken transmit antenna caused by recent high winds at the site.  The Sandpoint translator feeds our Bonners ferry and Priest Lake translators, so they are also down.  We have a new antenna on backorder, and our over-the-air broadcast in Bonner and Boundary Counties will be restored as soon as possible. 

UPDATE November 21, 2022: Our engineers made the trip into our Sandpoint translator site today and found that the transmission antenna had snapped near the base and was leaning over at about a 45-degree angle. This transmission antenna is responsible for delivering our over-the-air broadcast into the Sandpoint area, as well as relaying our broadcast signal to our Bonners Ferry and Priest Lake translators. The antenna cannot be fixed and will have to be replaced. The repair will require specialized equipment and tools to lower the broken antenna down and hoist the new one up. Due to the snow and terrain on Sandpoint Baldy, the site is not accessible with the vehicles we have, so we’ll likely have to hire this out. We are currently working to find out how long it will take to get a new antenna, which will dictate the timeline on the rest. We will continue to post updates as we receive new information. Again, we apologize for the inconvenience. 

November 18, 2022: Our Bonners Ferry translator appears to be down due to a weak incoming signal from our Sandpoint Translator.  We suspect our power level at Sandpoint is low.  Viewers within the immediate Sandpoint area should be able to receive our signal; but viewers in the outlining areas, including Sagle, Priest River, and Priest Lake, have reported our signal is missing.  We have 2 engineers scheduled to visit our Sandpoint Baldy translator Monday to troubleshoot the problem. We apologize for the inconvenience.

November 15, 2022: Due to damaged equipment, our No Business translator is down. Donnelly and South McCall areas are affected. Engineers have retrieved the equipment to repair it. Unfortunately, parts have to be ordered, so the estimated repair time is approximately one week. Thank you for your patience.

November 15, 2022: We will be doing tower maintenance in North Idaho today from 10AM - 1PM. Viewers in Coeur d'Alene, Spokane, Sandpoint, Bonners Ferry and Priest Lake may experience transmission issues during this time. Thank you for your patience.

November 14, 2022: We will be doing tower maintenance at Deer Point on Thursday, November 17  from 8AM - 3PM MT. Viewers in that area may experience transmission issues during this time. We thank you for your understanding.

November 1, 2022:  Viewers in the Pacific Time zone receiving KUID channel 12 or KCDT channel 26 will experience time shifted programming on the WORLD channel. Programming will be an hour earlier than scheduled until equipment repairs can be made.  We apologize for this inconvenience and appreciate your patience. 

November 1, 2022: The Cambridge Translator is currently down. Repairs are being made and the translator is expected to be back in service by the end of the week. 

October 11, 2022: We will be doing tower maintenance at Deer Point on October 24 from 11AM - 3PM that will require us to reduce power during that time. Viewers in that area may experience transmission issues during this time. We thank you for your understanding. 
 

September 14, 2022: There is a planned power outage on Paradise Ridge starting Thursday (Sep 15th) evening at 10 PM; ending Friday (Sept 16th) morning at 4 AM.  This should not affect our KUID transmission for longer than a few minutes.
 

August 29, 2022: Our microwave link to Moscow and Coeur d’Alene is currently in the path of the Four Corners fire near Cascade. As a result, we are having signal issues in North Idaho. We apologize for this inconvenience.

December 20, 2021: Microwave Services informed us that our signal is down at Brundage Mountain. A technician is currently on their way up to assess the problem. They will notify us when the signal has returned.

October 21, 2021: The Lewiston translator is currently running at reduced power due to the failure of an amplifier. Because we have to send the amplifier back to the manufacturer in Canada for repairs, we do not have an estimated repair date at this time. Thank you for your patience.
 

UPDATE October 8, 2021: The St. Maries translator is currently running at reduced power. We are awaiting replacement parts and hope to return it to full power before the snow flies and we can no longer access the site.
 

October 5, 2021: Translator work at our St. Joe Baldy translator site will result in intermittent outages in the St. Maries viewing area through Thursday, Oct. 7.

October 1, 2021: Friday, Saturday and Sunday, Oct. 1, 2 and 3, KBOI will have work done on their antennas at Deer Point. As a result, we will reduce power at KAID by 50% from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM all three days. Viewers in outlying areas of the Treasure Valley may experience issues with on-air reception. The maintenance window is 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM Oct 1-3. We apologize for the inconvenience.
 

September 23, 2021: Thursday, September 23 KTRV will be performing tower maintenance to repair damaged ice melters on their antennas at Deer Point. As a result, we will reduce power at KAID by 50%. This may affect viewers in outlying areas as well as some translators. The maintenance window is 10:00 AM - 2:00 PM.
 

UPDATE July 23, 2021: The main transmitter for Salmon and Leadore is back on the air. Viewers in those areas may need to rescan their televisions for reception. We appreciate your patience!
 

July 22, 2021: The broadcast signal for Salmon and Leadore is down. Engineers are en route and should have it running by noon on July 23. The main IdahoPTV channel can still be streamed via idahoptv.org or on the PBS Video App. We apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate your patience. 
 

June 29, 2021: The KCDT transmitter is currently experiencing technical issues that are causing some on-air reception problems. Crews are working to resolve the problem ASAP, but it may take a couple days to get to the site with the replacement parts.


UPDATE February 1, 2021: The Driggs broadcast signal is down. According to calls received, channel 10 and channel 6 are out. One of our engineers will drive up to the location first thing Tuesday morning. In the interim, an engineer is reaching out to Targhee to see if there is a power outage. We apologize for the inconvenience.


February 1, 2021: Tonight our engineers will replace equipment in master control. Outages and/or replacement programming may occur between the hours of 11:30 pm through 1:00 am Tuesday. We apologize for the inconvenience this may cause to our viewers.


UPDATE January 5, 2021: The translator is still down, and will likely remain down until spring. There is a major failure with the power feed up to the site which will require an excavator get to it. Winter conditions are preventing that from happening. We will update this notice if things change. Again, we apologize for the inconvenience.


December 23, 2020: The Crouch translator is down. Our engineer contacted a Garden Valley Translator District tech and was told that power up to the Crouch site is down. There is not an estimated time of repair yet. The electrical contractor has tried twice unsuccessfully to isolate the problem. We apologize for the inconvenience.

September 9, 2020: The main transmitter for KISU/Pocatello is down. There’s no electricity from Idaho Power due to recent weather. The backup generator failed last night and KISU engineers are actively working on the issue. The ETA for repair is unknown at this time. Thank you for your patience.

July 24, 2020: Mackay area translator is having technical issues due to an update in microwave equipment that Public Safety Communications is doing. They have technicians deployed to correct the issue. We apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate your patience.


July 15, 2020: The Kellogg translator is down. A team is working to troubleshoot and fix the issue. It may take a week to fix or replace parts. We apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate your patience.


July 7, 2020: IdahoPTV translator at Albion will be turned off today for about 30 minutes in order to redress the feed line through the wall port. We apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate your patience.


June 6, 2020: The Emmett translator is has failed. A crew is working to repair the problem. We apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate your patience.


UPDATE May 7, 2020:  Our engineers pulled the broken amplifier at Cottonwood Butte today, and replaced it with a translator at a drastically reduced power output. Unfortunately, some viewers will be unable to get our signal until the amplifier is repaired. We estimate repair time to be 2 -4 weeks, however because it has to go to Canada, and with the Covid-19 issue, it could be longer. We apologize for this disruption.


April 29, 2020: The Cottonwood translator is running at reduced power due to an amp failure. Cottonwood and Grangeville will continue to run at reduced power until repairs can be made, which is estimated to take about a month. We apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate your patience.


March 19, 2020: The KCDT transmitter output power will be lowered at approximately 11:30 AM PT this morning for some tower work. Although it won’t be as low as the last time we had to lower the output power, we're not sure who it will impact. We estimate that:

• It will cause some viewers with lower signal strengths to lose the signal during this time.
• It may impact the Sandpoint Translator and translators in Bonners Ferry and Priest Lake.
• Also, it may affect Dish, Direct and Comcast Cable in Spokane.
   

We apologize for the disruption and will return the power to normal as soon as possible.


March 18, 2020: Power outage at the Sandpoint Site that feeds the Bonners Ferry, Sandpoint and Priest Lake Translator areas. The power company and staff are working to get the power restored and/or get a generator running. We apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate your patience.


January 15, 2020: To repair the North Microwave correctly we are scheduling tomorrow at 1:00pm PST/ 2:00pm MST January 16th to replace the burnt connector and fuse block at the site. This is a service affecting outage and will shutdown our Public Television feed to KUID, KCDT and all North Idaho translators and Cable companies in the Spokane area.

With the weekend coming soon and it being a Holiday weekend at that, we decided it is best to do the repair sooner versus later. The repair is estimated to take up to 15 minutes. Thank you for your patience.


January 7, 2020: The Picabo Hills translator is down. This unit serves the communities of Bellevue and most of lower Hailey in the Wood River Valley. A crew will be working on the issue. It is a very difficult site to access in good conditions and darn near impossible in bad. Let’s hope the weather cooperates. We apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate your patience.


December 30, 2019: Public Safety Techs will be performing maintenance on the microwave feeding KUID and through it the Moscow / Pullman TW Spectrum, possibly Cable One in Lewiston and the translators fed from the KUID transmitter, Grangeville, Kamiah, Kooskia, St. Maries and Kellogg. December 17, 2019: We have a microwave problem at Summit Reservoir that has disrupted the signal in Challis, Salmon and Leadore.
