Job Summary

WEDU PBS is looking for a proactive, detail-oriented team player to play a vital role in supporting broadcast and digital content through project coordination, viewer services, and social media execution. This role is ideal for someone who takes initiative, anticipates needs, and keeps projects and communication moving across teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide project management support for Content teams, including production, digital, and programming.
  • Communicate with producers, writers, and production staff to coordinate deliverables and meet deadlines.
  • Proactively track project timelines, follow up with internal teams to gather needed information and assets, and ensure deliverables are completed on time without direct oversight.
  • Leverage PBS resources to curate and support local content and programming, including promos, videos, program descriptions, photos, and other assets.
  • Plan and execute Facebook content by identifying priority broadcast and streaming programs to promote, with a focus on driving viewership.
  • Source appropriate promotional assets and write and schedule Facebook posts to support programming, ensuring content aligns with brand voice and audience interests.
  • Engage with PBS station peers to develop content materials and adopt best practices for project management.
  • Create, maintain, and distribute key Content documents, including but not limited to programming and board reports, production calendars, and trackers.
  • Manage incoming community calls, emails, and requests related to content and programming.
  • Monitor and respond to social media comments and incoming messages, ensuring timely and professional engagement.
  • Escalate viewer concerns or sensitive issues to the appropriate internal teams as needed.
  • Provide assistance and administrative support across production, digital, and programming teams within the Content Department, and serve as backup support for content-related projects.
  • Communicate and coordinate with departments throughout the organization on projects as needed.
  • Stay up to date on industry trends, content standards, and social media best practices.
  • Assist with programs, grant applications, and collateral needs by maintaining timelines, conducting research, and assembling and delivering materials.
  • Maintain excellent internal and external communications, both verbally and in writing.
  • Perform any other duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications

  • Educational background in communications, film/TV, digital media, or related field with a minimum of two (2) years of experience
  • Bachelors Degree is preferred

 

Desired Skills & Abilities

  • Strong writing and copywriting skills, with experience writing for Facebook preferred.
  • Familiarity with social media community management, including responding to comments and messages in a professional and brand-aligned voice.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Adobe CC, and comfort learning new applications and platforms as technology evolves.
  • Experience with Sprout Social and Airtable (or similar project management tools) is a plus.
  • Familiarity with PBS content and programming.
  • Strong customer service mindset with a focus on both internal and external audiences.
  • Project and program management skills.
  • Ability and flexibility to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Self-starter and collaborative team player.

100% Onsite | WEDU PBS Offices | Tampa -- First 90 days

Hybrid | WEDU PBS Offices | Tampa & Remote -- Following successful completion of first 90 days in office
