“Arrowhead 135 and Bringing Youth Outdoors”

GRANITE FALLS, Minnesota, April 4, 2024 - On the next Prairie Sportsman, host Bret Amundson visits the Arrowhead Ultra 135 race and Project Get Outdoors. “Arrowhead 135 and Bringing Youth Outdoors” airs Sunday, April 14 at 7:30 p.m. Check local listings and our showtimes landing page for air dates and times on other PBS stations in Minnesota, Wisconsin, Iowa and Wyoming. Host Bret Amundson heads north for the Arrowhead Ultra 135 to meet some “ARROWHEAD ATHLETES.” Bikers and runners battle snow, wind and wilderness for hours on end in northeast Minnesota for a 135 mile race on the Arrowhead Trail from International Falls to Tower, Minnesota.

Then, “Connecting Kids to Nature” features Project Get Outdoors, a nonprofit that provides resources and training for nature-based afterschool programs. Launched in 2005 by State Park Naturalist Sara Holger, Project GO has served more than 50,000 Minnesota youth. The program promotes having fun in the outdoors while learning about the environment.
