On Friday, August 18th South Florida PBS hosted a "Whitney Houston Cover Party!" at Arts Warehouse in Delray Beach to celebrate our August program guide cover star. Guests joined us for a complimentary reception hosted by 1015 Lite FM radio's Tamara G. with live music by DJ Dre Vendetta and Ja'Nia Harden, drinks by Top Notch Toast, light bites, photography, Whitney-themed raffles, a surprise dance lesson and of course, Whitney's greatest hits!

Throughout the summer of 2023 South Florida PBS and NSU's Halmos College of Arts & Sciences collaborated on four screening events for the newest episodes of Changing Seas season 15. The episodes included Life in the Dark: The Polar Night, Bermuda: Life at Ocean's Edge, Mollusks: More than a Shell, and Sharks in Belize: Jaguars of the Sea. These events consisted of a screening of the episode followed by a live Q&A with experts featured in the episodes and concluded with a cocktail reception with our featured beer sponsor Lauderale Brewery. 

Funding for this season of Changing Seas was provided by The Batchelor Foundation, Trish and Dan Bell, and The Parrot Family Endowment for Environmental Education.

On Sunday, July 30th, South Florida PBS participated in "Be My Neighbor Day" at the Miami Marlins vs. Detroit Tigers game at loanDepot park in Miami. The first 5,000 kids in attendance received PNC Grow up Great backpacks with school supplies. Guests were invited to stop by the South Florida PBS booth to meet Katerina Kittycat and receive Daniel Tiger books, participate in a neighborly activity, take home learning materials, and other fun giveaways.

On Friday, June 30th, South Florida PBS hosted the "KidVision Mission Summer Party" at Flamingo Gardens in Davie. The event was very well attended and guests were invited to participate in a variety of activations including shaved ice, face painting, and balloon animals. Attendees were then shown a clip of KidVision Mission and got to see some of the bird's featured in the show in real life! Thank you to the South Florida PBS volunteers and the Flamingo Gardens team for hosting us and making this event so special!

On June 20th South Florida PBS hosted a screening event for the premiere of the latest episode of On the Town in The Palm Beaches with Frank Licari, "Family Friendly Fun." The event opened with a complimentary cocktail reception with live music, after which guests were invited to be the first to see the newest installment of this South Florida PBS original production. On June 14th South Florida PBS had the pleasure of hosting a Southern Storytellers screening event at Savor Cinema Fort Lauderdale. The event opened with a complimentary reception with live music and a photobooth activation. After the reception, guests were among the first to see a sneak peek of the new PBS docuseries Southern Storytellers ahead of its July premiere on WPBT and WXEL. After the screening, a diverse cast of local storytellers took the stage to share their own unique stories.

On Wednesday, April 19th South Florida PBS hosted a premiere event for the "Health and Wellness" installment of "On the Town in The Palm Beaches" at Arts Warehouse in Delray Beach. The event opened with a cocktail reception in the art gallery with live music ahead of the screening and concluded with a Q&A with producers and host Frank Licari. Guests of this VIP screening event were invited to join Chef Michelle Bernstein at her Miami Bayside restaurant, La Cañita, for a special Check, Please! Season 20 VIP Premiere Event & Watch Party! Guests enjoyed Michelle’s Cuban-inspired light bites, a welcome mojito, wine, and raffle prizes, as well as a meet & greet opportunity with Michelle. Those who attended were then among the first to see the premiere episode of the 20th season of this Suncoast Emmy Award winning production. 

On Saturday April 15th, South Florida PBS had a showcase room at the Sun Sentinel PRIME Expo in Ft Lauderdale, Florida. We promoted our local productions Between the Covers, Sex Talk with Dr. Lia, The Florida Keys: 200 Years of Paradise, and Check, Please! South Florida.

Between the Covers host Ann Bocock interviewed award winning author Robert Watson about his latest book "Escape!" After this discussion, Dr. Lia took the stage to talk Sex Talk season 2 and answer questions from the audience. For The Florida Keys: 200 Years of Paradise screening guests were served complimentary tropical drinks. Lastly, guests were among the first to see the season 20 premiere episode of Check, Please! South Florida. Previous guests of the show Mike Mayo and Janice Joseph then took the stage for a discussion and to take questions from the audience. 

On Monday, April 3rd South Florida PBS hosted a screening event for the broadcast premiere of the documentary "Crossing Overtown" at the Miami Black Police Precinct and Courthouse Museum in Overtown. This film explores the long narrative of racial conflict in Miami, from its roots in the reforms of Reconstruction, through its incorporation under dubious representation and continuing on through one of the earliest civil rights movements in the country. Guests were invited to enjoy a complimentary reception with live music while they toured the museum ahead of the screening. An excerpt of the documentary was screened and followed by a panel discussion and Q&A with producer Scott Barnett, Dr. George, and Chief Delrish Moss.
